Picsart x Web Summit

Beyond democratizing creativity, Picsart is defining visual culture. With 150 million active monthly users across the globe, it is reimagining a generation’s relationship with design and how their creativity is expressed.

My creative partner and I were brought on to conceptualize and launch global campaigns and have since stepped up to help lead the global creative team of over 30+ designers, animators, and writers.

For Web Summit 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal, we were tasked with creating a video to accompany Picsart’s CEO on stage. The video needed to show the power of AI when paired with human creativity. The catch? No budget and not a lot of time. So we figured, let’s add an activation in as well. 

The idea was to create swag that people would actually enjoy, has a conceptual idea behind it and is in line with our rebel brand…and it worked as we’ve received praise from Web Summit staff, press and lots of social sharing from attendees. Our scrappy activations have now become a hyped part of every Web Summit.

 

Catch of the Daiy

It all started in 2023 when we told the story of how a small business could use Picsart AI to design and market “Catch of the daily,” a custom tinned fish inspired by Portugal's beautiful patchwork tiles…don’t worry we swapped smelly fish for candy fish.

 

Wave Summit

For the following Lisbon event, we turned ‘Web Summit’ into ‘Wave Summit’ with a surf-themed story, including a custom surfboard designed by our in-house team using AI tools.

This was one of the first projects where we used Ideogram to fully generate storyboards including text and illustrations.
